Removing the SeaSucker 152 mm Vacuum Mount Housing
Let’s start by removing the 152 mm Vacuum Mount housing. To remove, loosen the 4 stainless-steel screws. The housing is essentially SeaSucker’s mounting platform. All attachments integrate with the housing in one form or another. The vacuum pump is also removable by pulling on the pump. This makes it easy to service and replace independently of the vacuum pad. The vacuum pump can also be disassembled making for cleaning and servicing.
If the vacuum mount has a Velcro strap as typically found on the SeaSucker Rear Wheel strap it will look like the photo below once the four housing screws are removed. To replace the pump just remove the pump housing whilst leaving the Velcro in the same position and insert the replacement pump housing.
The SeaSucker Vacuum Mount consists of the following components: The Vacuum Pad, The Vacuum Pump and the Housing as shown below.
The Housing Centre Hole and Two Slotted Holes
The housings on the 114 mm and 152 mm vacuum mounts are interchangeable. The most secure connection to the vacuum mount is by using a pair of bolts through the two slotted holes. Just slide the bolts through the inside of the housing. Next, secure the object using nuts and washers.Alternatively, the centre 1/4-20 countersunk thread built into the housing can also be used. You must ensure the bolt depth does not go too far as it will hit the pump below. If you are not sure please contact us and we will assist you.
