Ford Focus RS Bike Rack – The SeaSucker Mini Bomber

Ford Focus RS Bike Rack - the SeaSucker Mini BomberNick is a keen recreational cyclist who was in the market for a 2017 Ford Focus RS Bike Rack. In his search for a bike rack, he contacted us and arranged for a demonstration at our office in Cheltenham, Victoria. Having tackled the Ford Focus using the SeaSucker Bomber 3-Bike Rack we were confident we could meet his needs.

Ford Focus RS Bike Rack - the SeaSucker Mini BomberNick has several road bikes with quick-release front wheels. We began by demonstrating the SeaSucker Talon 1-Bike Rack.  We also demonstrated the to the Seasucker Mini Bomber 2-Bike Rack to give Nick the ability to carry two bikes. Whilst the Ford Focus RS is a small car Nick was happy to store the front wheel in the boot. With this in mind, we were confident the standard SeaSucker Mini Bomber would meet Nick’s needs.

Was this RS equipped with a moon roof. I can’t tell from the pictures, and I too am in the market for a rack for the RS. My application has to work around the moon roof.

    1. Hi Alex,
Thank you for contacting us with your query.
Assuming you wish to transport 2 bikes the SeaSucker Mini Bomber will work on painted panels and glass.
As for your moonroof, it will depend on the size of the roof and if you would prefer to still be able to use the moonroof with the bike rack installed.
For example, the SeaSucker Mini Bomber is 755 mm wide, if your moonroof is wider than this then the Mini Bomber will fit on the moonroof itself.
What we are trying to avoid is the bike rack overlapping the moonroof.
An alternative would be to install the bike rack directly behind your moonroof. To do this you need approx. 1.1m from behind the moonroof to the back of the roof.
Also, do your bikes have a quick-release front wheel which is also referred to as dropout front forks. This is characterized by a slot at the bottom of each fork.
Happy to discuss your requirements further. Please feel free to call us on 1300 877 119

      Kindest Regards,

      Chris
