Can you use the Flex-X Phone Mount to Record Video?

The SeaSucker Flex-X Phone is highly versatile, can be installed in seconds, and is highly adjustable. Having said this, a customer contacted us with a specific requirement: Did we have a phone mount in stock that could record video without the phone mount showing up in the video? Using the trusty work vehicle, the BMW X5, we first considered the RAM Quick-Grip Phone Mount—Extreme Edition; however, we discovered that the cradle does block the camera’s view. Furthermore, using the RAM Standard 1″ Double Socket Arm, we found that it did not provide enough reach to prevent blocking the camera’s view.

Next, we tried the SeaSucker Flex-X Phone Mount. This product utilises the SeaSucker 114mm Vacuum Mount with Low Profile Housing, which provides two mounting points for the Flex Arm located perpendicular to each other. We used the vertical mounting point as this would provide maximum reach.  We mounted the SeaSucker Flex-X Phone Mount so that the Flex Arm points horizontally across the windscreen. Upon firing the iPhone’s Camera, it quickly confirmed it had a clear view of the road ahead. We tried several locations in the BMW X5 and found that mounting the Flex-X Phone Mount high on the windscreen provided the perfect view without any obstructions. Furthermore, it did not hinder your view of looking out the windshield.
