Porsche GT3 Bike Rack – The SeaSucker Talon
A few weeks ago, Adrian sent us photos via Facebook of his Porsche GT3 Bike Rack using a SeaSucker Talon 1-Bike Rack. Adrian purchased his bike rack through our eBay store 5 months ago. This is not the first Porsche GT3 we have featured on our blog, that honour goes to David with his white Porsche GT3 and a SeaSucker Mini-Bomber 2-Bike Rack.
Taking a closer look at Adrian’s installation we noticed he placed the bike rack mainboard at the top of the back window. Consequently, this was done to maximise the bike rack space. The Talon, like all SeaSucker fork-mounted bike racks, require a minimum distance of approx 1.1 meres. This minimum distance is dictated by the length of your bike. Therefore, the measurement is taken from the forks to the back of the frame.
This type of setup is referred to as a rear window mount. Furthermore, If we compare this to David’s Porsche GT3 Bike Rack mentioned previously, David installed the bike rack on the roof of his car. Consequently, this type of setup is referred to as a roof mount.
The rear wheel strap is placed on the whale tail rear wing of the Porsche GT3. This is perfectly acceptable given the bike racks’ mainboard does all the heavy lifting. In other words, the rear wheel strap prevents the bike from moving left to right.
Thanks, Adrian for sending us the photos via Facebook and sharing your experience.
