VW Golf GTi Bike Rack – The SeaSucker Talon

Daniel, a keen Mountain Bike Rider was looking for a Golf GTi Bike Rack. He had tried vehicle specific Bike Racks in the past. As a result, he was looking for a solution that could be used on different cars. He contacted us looking for a bike rack that could transport his Giant Mountain Bike

After discussing his requirements we recommended the SeaSucker Talon 1-Bike Rack. Furthermore, we suggested he replace the standard Quick-Release Fork Mount for a 15 mm x 100 mm Through-Axle Fork Mount. This would ensure a direct connection between the bike and the bike rack. It also removed the need for using a fork adapter. This setup is similar to Jame’s VWGolf R Bike Rack we did many months ago. As Daniel’s car had a panoramic roof he was concerned about how well our bike racks would work on the glass. Consequently, we shared with Daniel the VW Gary’s Golf GTi Bike Rack with a panoramic roof.  

Several weeks later Daniel sent us these photos. To our surprise, Daniel’s keen eye for innovation resulted in a new way of transporting his front wheel. Using double-sided Velcro he purchased from us Daniel strapped the front wheel to the Talon Main Board. He then converted the spare vacuum mount into a rear wheel strap. This was done by inserting another piece of double-sided Velcro.
