Porsche Boxster Bike Rack – The SeaSucker Mini Bomber

Lee is the president of a local cycling club in Melbourne. He was looking for a Porsche Boxster Bike Rack after purchasing his new car. Consequently, Lee contacted us looking for advice. We knew the Porsche Boxster would present unique challenges. We arranged with Le to meet us at our Cheltenham office.

Lee’s requirement was to carry two bikes without sacrificing internal space. As a result, we began with a SeaSucker Mini Bomber 2-Bike Rack. We identified two possible mounting locations. The first was the area between the soft top and the rear deck lid. Hence we test fitted the SeaSucker Mini Bomber and found there was ample space. We measured the length from the main board to the bumper bar. To our surprise, there was enough length to accommodate Lee’s bikes.

The second possible location was to mount the SeaSucker Mini Bomber main board on the rear window. Whilst the Porsche Boxster is a soft top convertible the rear window is made of glass. The main board fitted easily onto the back window. Subsequently, we discovered the rear window had movement due to the soft top. Most of all this movement was inconsequential as the rear window is well protected by the soft top. This minimised any movement whilst driving.

Next, we tackled the front wheels. With minimal boot space, we used 2 SeaSucker Hoggs  – Front Wheel Holders. As a result, the front wheel could be carried alongside the back wheel. In conclusion, the SeaSucker Hogg eliminates the need to sacrifice boot space.
