Porsche 911 Bike Rack Update
Porsche 911 with Full Glass Roof Bike Rack – The SeaSucker Mini Bomber
James and his 2014 Porsche 911 with a Full Glass Roof Update
After considering his options regarding the best location James decided to mount his SeaSucker Mini Bomber on the glass roof of his Porsche 911. He sent us a few updated photos along with is feedback below.
“I ended up mounting the Mini bomber on the sunroof as the panel I had previously looked at (and in those photos) turned out not to actually be glass. It was really just a trim panel so in the end I used the sunroof. My round trip was about 600 miles and I had no problems at all. The rubber on the sunroof did chatter a bit at speeds between 30 and 50 mph, but they are prone to doing that anyway unless well lubricated. Once over 60 mph it felt rock solid. We lost no pressure at all and once at our destination I was able to swap the Mini bomber onto a family members car so they could then drop us off for our ride. With a normal rack that wouldn’t have worked so we would have had to ride a circular route back to the car!”
Thanks James for sharing your experience with us.
